Police have not made any arrests following a stabbing in Chingford Mount on Tuesday evening that left a 24-year-old man in hospital with a head injury.

The incident happened in Brook Crescent at around 7.38pm on Tuesday 4th August. The Metropolitan Police investigation is ongoing, and officers are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

Police said the victim's injuries were assessed as "non-life-threatening and non-life-changing".

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.38pm on 4th August to reports of a stabbing on New Road, Chingford, E4. We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority by road."

The stabbing follows a run of knife crime in the area. It comes weeks after a 34-year-old man was stabbed following an altercation in Old Church Road, and in February two men were stabbed outside a late-night bar in Hall Lane that has since closed.

In July last year, 26-year-old Tyler Hayward was fatally stabbed near The Kings Ford pub in Chingford Mount Road. His father Matthew paid tribute to him at the time, saying: "He wasn't part of any gang, just a young man with a future he was looking forward to, and a beautiful, caring soul who touched everyone he met."
