Join London Wildlife Trust's ongoing Buzz Map citizen science project, which uses DNA sequencing to map insect diversity across the UK. Volunteers learn to set up Malaise traps, collect and process samples, and help with visitor engagement activities; no previous experience is needed as full training is given on the day. It suits adults with an interest in biodiversity, science careers or environmental education, and young people aged 11+ can take part with an accompanying adult. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes, and bring lunch if staying for the full session - refreshments are also available. Attendance is flexible; drop in for part or all of the session. Free; book via Eventbrite. Meet at the Engine House visitor centre.
Listing from London Wildlife Trust. Times and prices can change — check their page before you travel.
